Things We Do -
-
We recycle paper,
cardboard, bottles and aluminium cans. We
compost all our garden refuse and collect leaves
for leaf mould.
-
We try to avoid the
use of chemicals in the gardens
- We have left a
substantial area of woodland as a wildlife
habitat
- We have installed solar hot water at Well
Cottage, and have insulated the cottage to
extremely high standards
-
We use local
suppliers, producers, contractors and craftsmen.
-
We sponsor the
websites of a number of local charitable and
community organisations, including
Taste South
East Cornwall, the
Morval Steam Rally, the
St Piran Singers and
Herodsfoot-online.
-
We support our local
community - particularly All Saints Church.
Although we are not church members ourselves,
All Saints is the centre of our community and
provides the only public space for concerts,
lectures and other events in the village. You
will find a very warm welcome if you attend any
of the events in the village.
Things You Can Do -
-
Please reduce, reuse
and recycle. There are separate recycling bins in the
outside bin cupboard
-
Please think
carefully about
the extent of your energy use in the Cottage
-
Please 'bag and bin'
sanitary items and nappies.

Please support local
shops and Cornish produce suppliers. For

the doorstep we have Cornish Orchardsapple juice and ciders at Westnorth Farm
between Duloe and Sandplace, and Looe is
renowned for its day-boat fish, available from
Pengelly's on the quay at Looe.
-
We will be delighted
to recommend local restaurants who are renowned
for their use of local, seasonal ingredients.
-
You can order fine
local produce - and the basics you'll need for
your holiday - from
www.food4myholiday.com (or see Jackie for
details) for delivery straight to your kitchen.
